What's wrong

Prevost is recalling certain model year 2009-2013 Volvo Bus 9700 coaches. The pipe that carries hydraulic fluid to the fan drive may crack allowing oil to spray on hot engine components.

The risk

Hydraulic oil sprayed onto hot engine components may result in a vehicle fire.

The fix

Prevost will notify owners, and dealers will add a rubber skirt to the hydraulic pipe, free of charge. The safety recall began on October 22, 2012. Owners may contact Prevost at 1-418-883-2888.

The Prevost recall campaign number is SR12-64.Customers may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-423 (TTY: 1-800-424-9153), or go to http://www.safercar.gov.

Is this car's recall fixed?

Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
