Recall 12V479000 · manufacturer campaign 12526
Parking Brake — Ic · reported 2 Oct 2012 · 381 vehicles potentially affected
What's wrong
Navistar is recalling certain model year 2007-2010 IC 3200IM commercial buses, manufactured from April 11, 2006, through December 11, 2009. If the parking brake system experiences a loss of air pressure, the parking brake may inadvertantly apply itself, either partially or fully.
The risk
Inadvertent partial or total parking brake application may result in a driveline fire.
The fix
Navistar will notify owners, and dealers will install a parking brake system pressure-loss warning system, free of change. The safety recall began on November 30, 2012. Owners may contact Navistar at 1-331-332-1590.
Navistar's recall campaign number is 12526.Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY: 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.safercar.gov.
Vehicles covered by this recall
Whether a particular car is affected and still unrepaired depends on its VIN — a model year being listed does not mean every car of that year is included. Check any VIN free on CarLogs, or at nhtsa.gov/recalls.
Is this car's recall fixed?
Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
