Recall 12V524000 · manufacturer campaign C1005710

Fuel System, Other › Fuel Filter — Mitsubishi Fuso · reported 25 Oct 2012 · 6,520 vehicles potentially affected

What's wrong

Mitsubishi Fuso Truck of America (MFTA) is recalling certain model year 2012-2013 FEC52, FEC72, FEC92, and FGB72 trucks. The fuel line may disconnect from the fuel filter head due to an improperly machined connector.

The risk

As the fuel line loosens and detaches it may leak fuel. Leaking fuel in the presence of an ignition source such as high temperature components may increase the risk of a fire.

The fix

MFTA will notify owners, and dealers will inspect and replace the affected fuel filter head, free of charge. The safety recall began on December 19, 2012. Owners may contact MFTA at 1-856-467-4500.

MFTA's recall campaign number is C1005710.Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's Vehicle Safety hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.safercar.gov.

Is this car's recall fixed?

Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
