Recall 13V006000 · manufacturer campaign M-1208
Seat Belts — Autocar · reported 9 Jan 2013 · 80 vehicles potentially affected
What's wrong
Autocar Industries, LLC is recalling certain model year 2012 Xpert vehicles manufactured October 17, 2011, through September 17, 2012; and with serial numbers in the range 213522 through 215336. The seat belt anchorages fail to sustain the 3000 pound forces for the specified length of time. Therefore, these vehicles fail to conform to the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 210, "Seat Belt Assembly Anchorages."
The risk
In the event of a crash, an insufficient seat belt anchorage may prevent the seat belt from properly restraining the occupant. This increases the risk of injury to the seat occupant.
The fix
Autocar will notify owners, and dealers will repair the seat belts, free of charge. The recall began on March 1, 2013. Owners may contact Autocar at 1-765-489-5499.
Autocar's recall campaign number is M-1208.Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.safercar.gov.
Vehicles covered by this recall
Whether a particular car is affected and still unrepaired depends on its VIN — a model year being listed does not mean every car of that year is included. Check any VIN free on CarLogs, or at nhtsa.gov/recalls.
Is this car's recall fixed?
Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
