Recall 13V055000 · manufacturer campaign SR13-08

Steering › Linkages › Drag › Link › Connection — Prevost · reported 15 Feb 2013 · 6,120 vehicles potentially affected

What's wrong

Prevost is recalling certain model year 1993 thru 2013 model H3-40, H3-41, H3-45, and H3-45 VIP Prevost coaches manufactured from December 1993 through February 12, 2013. Under certain conditions, the drag link collar position combined with an over torque of the collar retaining bolt may create a contact with the pitman arm.

The risk

This contact may cause the turnbuckle to fracture without warning. If the drag link turnbuckle breaks while the vehicle is in use, stability and vehicle control may be lost, increasing the risk of a crash.

The fix

Prevost will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the vehicles and replace any affected drag link, free of charge. The recall began on April 18, 2013. Owners may contact Prevost at 1-418-883-2888.

Prevost's recall campaign number is SR13-08.Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.safercar.gov.

Is this car's recall fixed?

Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
