Recall 13V082000 · manufacturer campaign 13KWE
Seat Belts — Kenworth · reported 6 Mar 2013 · 17 vehicles potentially affected
What's wrong
PACCAR is recalling certain model year 2014 Kenworth T270 and T370 trucks, manufactured from January 31, 2013, through February 4, 2013. The left hand seat belt floor pan reinforcement bracket was not positioned correctly during assembly. This could result in the failure of the seat belt anchor mounting.
The risk
In the event of a crash, the failure in the seat belt anchor may increase the risk of injury.
The fix
PACCAR will notify owners, and dealers will remove, reposition, and reinstall the reinforcement bracket free of charge. The recall began on April 15, 2013. Owners may contact Kenworth at 1-425-828-5000.
Kenworth's recall campaign number is 13KWE.Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.safercar.gov.
Vehicles covered by this recall
Whether a particular car is affected and still unrepaired depends on its VIN — a model year being listed does not mean every car of that year is included. Check any VIN free on CarLogs, or at nhtsa.gov/recalls.
Is this car's recall fixed?
Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
