Recall 13V247000 · manufacturer campaign 20134

Service Brakes, Air — Nabi · reported 13 Jun 2013 · 515 vehicles potentially affected

What's wrong

North American Bus Industries, Inc. (NABI) is recalling certain model year 2003-2013 45CLFW and 2013 40CLFW transit buses manufactured November 1, 2008, through June 7, 2013. The air brake pedal mounting may become loose during application of the brake pedal.

The risk

If the brake pedal comes loose during use, the driver may not be able to apply the brakes as expected and required, increasing the risk of a crash.

The fix

NABI will notify owners and inspect and repair the buses, free of charge. The recall began July 10, 2013. Owners may contact NABI at 1-256-241-1298. NABI's recall number is 20134.

Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.safercar.gov.

Whether a particular car is affected and still unrepaired depends on its VIN — a model year being listed does not mean every car of that year is included. Check any VIN free on CarLogs, or at nhtsa.gov/recalls.

Is this car's recall fixed?

Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
