Recall 13V331000

Visibility › Windshield Wiper/washer — Jayco · reported 31 Jul 2013 · 19 vehicles potentially affected

What's wrong

Jayco is recalling certain model year 2014 Precept Motorhomes manufactured March 28, 2013, through June 27, 2013. The attachment mechanism that holds the windshield wiper arm to the wiper motor shaft could crack.

The risk

If the attachment mechanism cracks, the windshield wiper may detach reducing the driver's visibility, increasing the risk of a crash.

The fix

Jayco will notify owners, and dealers will replace the wiper arm, at no charge. The recall began on September 5, 2013. Owners may contact Jayco at 1-800-283-8267.

Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.safercar.gov.

Vehicles covered by this recall

Whether a particular car is affected and still unrepaired depends on its VIN — a model year being listed does not mean every car of that year is included. Check any VIN free on CarLogs, or at nhtsa.gov/recalls.

Is this car's recall fixed?

Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
