Recall 13V558000

Structure › Body › Roof And Pillars — Jayco · reported 7 Nov 2013 · 91 vehicles potentially affected

What's wrong

Jayco is recalling certain model year 2011 Jay Series pop-up camping trailers. In these vehicles, if a component failure occurs in the roof lifter system, the failure may cause the roof to abruptly collapse to the closed position.

The risk

If the roof abruptly closes, there is an increased risk of personal injury.

The fix

Jayco will notify owners and dealers will add a metal stop that prevents to sudden collapse of the roof, free of charge. The recall began on December 19, 2013. Owners may contact Jacyo at 1-800-283-8267 for more information.

Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.safercar.gov.

Is this car's recall fixed?

Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
