Recall 13V609000

Equipment › Other › Labels — Starcraft · reported 3 Dec 2013 · 26 vehicles potentially affected

What's wrong

Starcraft RV, Inc. (Starcraft) is recalling certain model year 2014 16BH AR-ONE trailers manufactured between June 3, 2013, through September 30, 2013. The vehicles were built with tires of a lower load range than the Gross Vehicle Weight Rating requires.

The risk

If the trailer is loaded to the gross vehicle weight rating that is listed on the label for the higher capacity tires, the tires may suddenly fail increasing the risk of a crash.

The fix

Starcraft RV will notify owners and dealers will replace the tires and the spare tire with new ST175.80R13D tires and issue a correct tire label, free of charge. The recall began on January 8, 2014. Customers may contact Starcraft at 1-800-945-4787.

Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.safercar.gov.

Whether a particular car is affected and still unrepaired depends on its VIN — a model year being listed does not mean every car of that year is included. Check any VIN free on CarLogs, or at nhtsa.gov/recalls.

Is this car's recall fixed?

Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
