Recall 14V060000

Equipment › Electrical — Vip/pt · reported 18 Feb 2014 · 171 vehicles potentially affected

What's wrong

Diamond Coach Corporation is recalling certain model year 2009 through 2010 VIP/PT 2000, 2200, 2500, 2800, 3200, and 3201 transit buses equipped with A&M Systems-brand door actuators containing model 3230 circuit boards. Voltage spikes may damage the electrical components and electrical circuits of the door actuator, causing the circuit board to develop high resistance.

The risk

High resistance may cause the board to overheat, increasing the risk of a fire.

The fix

Diamond Coach Corporation will notify owners, and dealers will replace the affected circuit boards, free of charge. The recall began in March 2014. Owners may contact Diamond Coach Corporation at 1-800-442-4645.

Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.safercar.gov.

Vehicles covered by this recall

Whether a particular car is affected and still unrepaired depends on its VIN — a model year being listed does not mean every car of that year is included. Check any VIN free on CarLogs, or at nhtsa.gov/recalls.

Is this car's recall fixed?

Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
