Recall 14V076000

Latches/locks/linkages — Intercontinental Truck · reported 20 Feb 2014 · 32 vehicles potentially affected

What's wrong

Intercontinental Truck Body (ITB) is recalling certain model year 2010-2013 Cube Vans manufactured May 28, 2010, through June 7, 2013 and equipped with Fastec-brand door locks. It may be possible to remove the key from the lock in a way that potentially jams the deadbolt.

The risk

If the deadbolt jams, the interior side of the door lock may also jam. A person inside the cube van at the time will then be locked in and be unable to exit the vehicle without using the pass through to the vehicle cab, increasing the risk of injury.

The fix

ITB will notify owners, and Fastec will coordinate the inspection and replacement of the cylinders, as needed, free of charge. The recall began in May 2014. Owners may contact ITB at 1-800-327-3349 or Fastec at 1-800-837-2505.

Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.safercar.gov.

Whether a particular car is affected and still unrepaired depends on its VIN — a model year being listed does not mean every car of that year is included. Check any VIN free on CarLogs, or at nhtsa.gov/recalls.

Is this car's recall fixed?

Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
