Recall 14V203000 · manufacturer campaign CB14-N-001

Electrical System › Horn — Isuzu · reported 17 Apr 2014 · 1,770 vehicles potentially affected

What's wrong

Isuzu Manufacturing Services of America, Inc. (Isuzu) is recalling certain model year 2012-2013 Reach stripped chassis manufactured July 26, 2011, through August 27, 2013. The horn switch contacts may be bent or may wear prematurely causing the horn not to work.

The risk

An inoperable horn may increase the risk of a crash.

The fix

Isuzu will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the horn contact shaft to see if it is bent or if it has premature wear, and replace the steering wheel combination switch if either condition is found, free of charge. Owners may contact Isuzu customer service at 1-866-441-9638. Isuzu's number for this recall is CB14-N-001.

Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.safercar.gov.

Is this car's recall fixed?

Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
