Structure › Frame And Members — Terex · reported 29 May 2014 · 42 vehicles potentially affected

What's wrong

Terex South Dakota, Inc. (Terex) is recalling certain model year 2006-2014 TLM series models manufactured from December 2006 through February 2014 which were installed on Ford F550 vehicles. The affected vehicles may develop a crack in a notch of the vehicle frame.

The risk

A crack in the frame may cause frame failure, resulting in a loss of vehicle control, increasing the risk of a crash.

The fix

Terex will notify owners, and dealers will repair any cracked frames and install a preventative reinforcement on the affected vehicles which have not cracked, free of charge. The recall began on July 8, 2014. Owners may contact Terex customer service at 1-605-882-4000. Terex's number for this recall is SN610.

Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.safercar.gov.

Is this car's recall fixed?

Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
