Recall 14V296000 · manufacturer campaign 20143
Steering › Column — Nabi · reported 4 Jun 2014 · 39 vehicles potentially affected
What's wrong
NABI Bus, LLC (NABI) is recalling certain model year 2012 31LFW city transit buses manufactured April 27, 2012, through December 16, 2012. In the affected vehicles, the steering column support bracket may not be properly welded to the dash assembly.
The risk
If the steering column support bracket detaches, the steering column may become loose, causing the steering to become inoperable, increasing the risk of a crash.
The fix
NABI will notify owners will reweld or replace the steering column support bracket, free of charge. The recall began in August 2014. Owners may contact NABI customer service at 1-256-831-4296. NABI's number for this recall is 20143.
Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.safercar.gov.
Vehicles covered by this recall
Whether a particular car is affected and still unrepaired depends on its VIN — a model year being listed does not mean every car of that year is included. Check any VIN free on CarLogs, or at nhtsa.gov/recalls.
Is this car's recall fixed?
Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
