Recall 14V474000

Suspension — Vanco · reported 1 Aug 2014 · 4 vehicles potentially affected

What's wrong

Vanco USA, LLC (Vanco) is recalling certain model year 2015 Semi-Trailers, model 2WIL2A530SAR114/116, manufactured in April 2014, and equipped with certain SAF-Holland-brand CBX Trailer Suspension Air Ride Axle Systems. The affected trailer suspensions have pivot bolts that may fail.

The risk

Failure of the pivot bolts may cause the suspension and attached axle to separate from the trailer, increasing the risk of a crash.

The fix

Vanco will notify owners, and SAF-Holland-approved repair shops will replace the defective pivot bolts with new pivot bolts, free of charge. The recall began in August 2014. Owners may contact Vanco customer service at 1-609-499-4141 or SAF-Holland at 1-888-396-6501.

Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.safercar.gov.

Whether a particular car is affected and still unrepaired depends on its VIN — a model year being listed does not mean every car of that year is included. Check any VIN free on CarLogs, or at nhtsa.gov/recalls.

Is this car's recall fixed?

Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
