Recall 14V492000 · manufacturer campaign 926P
Suspension — Wilson · reported 25 Jul 2014 · 716 vehicles potentially affected
What's wrong
Wilson Trailer Company (Wilson) is recalling certain model year 2014-2015 Grain and Livestock trailers manufactured September 20, 2013, to July 18, 2014, and equipped with certain Pivot Bolts Part Number 93201070. The affected pivot bolts may experience an intergranular quench crack where the bolt head meets the body of the bolt.
The risk
Failure of the pivot bolts may cause the suspension and attached axle to separate from the trailer, increasing the risk of a crash.
The fix
Wilson will notify owners, and dealers or authorized repair facilites will replace the pivot bolts, free of charge. The recall began in September 2014. Owners may contact Wilson customer service at 1-800-798-2002. Wilson's number for this recall is 926P.
Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.safercar.gov.
Vehicles covered by this recall
Whether a particular car is affected and still unrepaired depends on its VIN — a model year being listed does not mean every car of that year is included. Check any VIN free on CarLogs, or at nhtsa.gov/recalls.
Is this car's recall fixed?
Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
