Recall 14V807000 · manufacturer campaign 14525

Exterior Lighting › Headlights — International · reported 22 Dec 2014 · 498 vehicles potentially affected

What's wrong

Navistar, Inc. (Navistar) is recalling certain model year 2013-2015 International WorkStar vehicles manufactured March 16, 2012, to October 1, 2014. In the affected vehicles, the headlight low beam and ground circuits may have been reversed at the headlight connector resulting in reduced light output. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) No. 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment."

The risk

Reduced light output may impair the driver's vision, increasing the risk of a crash.

The fix

Navistar will notify owners, and dealers will correct the wiring in headlight harness connector, free of charge. The recall began on December 29, 2014. Owners may contact Navistar customer service at 1-800-448-7825. Navistar's number for this recall is 14525.

Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.safercar.gov.

Whether a particular car is affected and still unrepaired depends on its VIN — a model year being listed does not mean every car of that year is included. Check any VIN free on CarLogs, or at nhtsa.gov/recalls.

Is this car's recall fixed?

Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
