Recall 15V084000 · manufacturer campaign 15501
Electrical System › Wiring — Ic Bus · reported 11 Feb 2015 · 6,302 vehicles potentially affected
What's wrong
Navistar, Inc. (Navistar) is recalling certain model year 2015-2016 IC CE school buses manufactured October 3, 2013, to March 16, 2015. In the affected school buses, the powertrain wiring harness may contact the high pressure fuel line for one of the fuel injectors, possibly resulting in a fuel leak.
The risk
If the high pressure fuel line leaks, fuel may spray into the engine compartment, increasing the risk of a fire.
The fix
Navistar will notify owners, and dealers will install an additional harness saddle and cable tie strap to provide proper clearance, free of charge. The recall began February 20, 2015. Owners may contact Navistar customer service at 1-800-448-7825. Navistar's number for this recall is 15501.
Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.safercar.gov.
Vehicles covered by this recall
Whether a particular car is affected and still unrepaired depends on its VIN — a model year being listed does not mean every car of that year is included. Check any VIN free on CarLogs, or at nhtsa.gov/recalls.
Is this car's recall fixed?
Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
