Steering › Linkages › Tie Rod Assembly — Nabi · reported 4 Mar 2015 · 63 vehicles potentially affected

What's wrong

NABI Bus, LLC (NABI) is recalling certain model year 2014 40LFW city transit buses manufactured September 12, 2014, to December 31, 2014. The affected buses have front axles whose tie rod nuts may be improperly torqued.

The risk

If the tie rod nuts are not properly torqued, the tie rod may not be adequately secured, resulting in a loss of vehicle control and increasing the risk of a crash.

The fix

NABI will notify owners, and dealers will be retorque the tie rod nuts, free of charge. The recall began on March 20, 2015. Owners may contact NABI customer service at 1-256-241-1298. NABI's number for this recall is 20151.

Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.safercar.gov.

Vehicles covered by this recall

Whether a particular car is affected and still unrepaired depends on its VIN — a model year being listed does not mean every car of that year is included. Check any VIN free on CarLogs, or at nhtsa.gov/recalls.

Is this car's recall fixed?

Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
