Recall 15V209000

Equipment › Recreational Vehicle/trailer — Highland Ridge Fw, Highland Ridge Tt · reported 7 Apr 2015 · 238 vehicles potentially affected

What's wrong

Highland Ridge RV (Highland) is recalling certain model year 2015-2016 Roamer, Mesa Ridge, Light, 3X, and Journeyer travel and fifth wheel trailers manufactured March 6, 2015, to March 26, 2015. In the affected vehicles, the screws that attach the expanding room to the sliding mechanism cable may fail allowing the room to extend unintentionally while the vehicle is in motion.

The risk

If the room extends while vehicle is in motion, there is an increased risk of a crash.

The fix

Highland will notify owners, and dealers will replace the slide room mechanism attaching screws, free of charge. The recall began on May 5, 2015. Owners may contact Highland customer service at 1-260-768-7771.

Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.safercar.gov.

Vehicles covered by this recall

Whether a particular car is affected and still unrepaired depends on its VIN — a model year being listed does not mean every car of that year is included. Check any VIN free on CarLogs, or at nhtsa.gov/recalls.

Is this car's recall fixed?

Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
