Recall 15V214000 · manufacturer campaign P062
Electronic Stability Control (esc) — Land Rover · reported 10 Apr 2015 · 2,687 vehicles potentially affected
What's wrong
Jaguar Land Rover North America, LLC (Land Rover) is recalling certain model year 2015 LR4 vehicles manufactured August 19, 2014, to February 9, 2015. Due to an Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS) software error, the Dynamic Stability Control (DSC), Roll Stability Control (RSC), Traction Control (TC) and Hill Decent Control (HDC) systems may be disabled.
The risk
If these safety systems are disabled, a loss of vehicle stability and control may occur, increasing the risk of crash.
The fix
Land Rover will notify owners, and dealers will update the ABS software, free of charge. The recall began on May 21, 2015. Owners may contact Land Rover customer service at 1-800-637-6837. Land Rover's number for this recall is P062.
Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.safercar.gov.
Vehicles covered by this recall
Whether a particular car is affected and still unrepaired depends on its VIN — a model year being listed does not mean every car of that year is included. Check any VIN free on CarLogs, or at nhtsa.gov/recalls.
Is this car's recall fixed?
Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
