Recall 15V236000 · manufacturer campaign SET15B
Structure › Body › Roof And Pillars — Toyota · reported 21 Apr 2015 · 262 vehicles potentially affected
What's wrong
Southeast Toyota Distributors, LLC (SET) is recalling certain model year 2015 Sienna vehicles manufactured September 1, 2014, to April 13, 2015 and equipped with overhead entertainment accessories installed by SET. During reassembly of the interior after the overhead entertainment system installation, a trim panel securing clip may have been reused instead of being replaced.
The risk
If the clip was damaged during the entertainment system installation, in the event of a side curtain air bag deployment, the trim panel may detach and strike one of the vehicle occupants, increasing the risk of injury.
The fix
SET will notify owners, and dealers will replace the trim panel securing clip, free of charge. The recall began on May 22, 2015. Owners may contact SET customer service at 1-866-405-4226. SET's number for this recall is SET15B.
Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.safercar.gov.
Vehicles covered by this recall
Whether a particular car is affected and still unrepaired depends on its VIN — a model year being listed does not mean every car of that year is included. Check any VIN free on CarLogs, or at nhtsa.gov/recalls.
Is this car's recall fixed?
Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
