Recall 15V304000 · manufacturer campaign 9904242
Equipment › Recreational Vehicle/trailer — Highland Ridge Tt · reported 22 May 2015 · 93 vehicles potentially affected
What's wrong
Highland Ridge RV (Highland Ridge) is recalling certain model year 2015 Roamer, Mesa Ridge and 3X fifth wheel trailers manufactured May 7, 2014, to June 4, 2014. In the affected vehicles, a rivet for the quad entry steps may shear and fail, causing the steps to give when being used.
The risk
If the rivet shears under occupant load, the steps may give and the occupant may fall, increasing the risk of personal injury.
The fix
Highland Ridge will notify owners, and dealers will remove the rivets and the step sections will be bolted together, free of charge. The recall began during June 2015. Owners may contact Highland Ridge customer service at 1-260-768-7771. Highland Ridge's number for this recall is 9904242.
Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.safercar.gov.
Vehicles covered by this recall
Whether a particular car is affected and still unrepaired depends on its VIN — a model year being listed does not mean every car of that year is included. Check any VIN free on CarLogs, or at nhtsa.gov/recalls.
Is this car's recall fixed?
Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
