Recall 15V331000 · manufacturer campaign P750

Steering — Van Hool · reported 1 Jun 2015 · 555 vehicles potentially affected

What's wrong

Van Hool N.V. (Van Hool) is recalling certain model year 2014 C2045, 2014-2015 CX45, TD925, TX40, TX45, and 2015 TDX25 coaches. The affected vehicles have front steering knuckle carrier that may break.

The risk

If the front steering knuckle carrier breaks, the coach wheel may separate from the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.

The fix

ABC Bus will notify owners on behalf of Van Hool, and dealers will inspect and replace the affected steering knuckles, as necessary, free of charge. The recall began on July 6, 2015. Owners may contact ABC Bus at 1-877-427-7278. Van Hool's number for this recall is P750.

Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.safercar.gov.

Vehicles covered by this recall

Whether a particular car is affected and still unrepaired depends on its VIN — a model year being listed does not mean every car of that year is included. Check any VIN free on CarLogs, or at nhtsa.gov/recalls.

Is this car's recall fixed?

Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
