Recall 15V348000 · manufacturer campaign SR15-30

Electrical System › Wiring — Prevost · reported 5 Jun 2015 · 452 vehicles potentially affected

What's wrong

Prevost Cars, Inc. (Prevost) is recalling certain model year 2010-2014 X3-45, XLII-45, H3-41, and H3-45 coaches manufactured November 30, 2009, to August 12, 2014. In the affected vehicles, the wires for the Automatic Fire Suppression System (AFSS) Linear Thermal Detector (LTD) may be damaged by temperatures in the engine compartment.

The risk

The damaged wires may activate the AFSS and shutdown the engine, increasing the risk of a vehicle crash.

The fix

Prevost will notify owners, and dealers will relocate the AFSS LTD wiring, free of charge. The recall began on July 17, 2015. Owners may contact Prevost customer service at 1-800-463-7738. Prevost's number for this recall is SR15-30.

Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.safercar.gov.

Whether a particular car is affected and still unrepaired depends on its VIN — a model year being listed does not mean every car of that year is included. Check any VIN free on CarLogs, or at nhtsa.gov/recalls.

Is this car's recall fixed?

Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
