Recall 15V423000

Equipment — Terex Advance · reported 2 Jul 2015 · 120 vehicles potentially affected

What's wrong

Terex Advance (Terex) is recalling certain model year 2015 Front Discharge Concrete Mixer Trucks manufactured April 1, 2015, to June 23, 2015. In the affected trucks, the bolts that secure the concrete mixing drum to the drum drive plate may not have been properly tightened.

The risk

If the bolts are not properly tightened, the drum may separate from the vehicle, increasing the risk of injury or a crash.

The fix

Terex will notify owners, and dealers will install new bolts using a thread locker, after removing the paint from under the fasteners. These repairs will be done free of charge. The recall began on Sptember 23, 2015. Owners may contact Terex customer service at 1-800-433-6691.

Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.safercar.gov.

Vehicles covered by this recall

Whether a particular car is affected and still unrepaired depends on its VIN — a model year being listed does not mean every car of that year is included. Check any VIN free on CarLogs, or at nhtsa.gov/recalls.

Is this car's recall fixed?

Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
