Recall 15V527000 · manufacturer campaign 5-08102015-0072

Electrical System › Wiring — Starcraft Bus · reported 18 Aug 2015 · 32 vehicles potentially affected

What's wrong

Forest River, Inc. (Forest River) is recalling certain model year 2013-2014 Starcraft All Star XL, 2013 Starcraft All Star, and XLT transit buses manufactured October 17, 2012, to November 20, 2012. The affected vehicles may have an improperly routed engine grid heater power feed cable which can result in the cable contacting the metal edge on the cab.

The risk

If the cable contacts the metal edge of the cab, it may cause an electrical short, increasing the risk of a fire.

The fix

Forest River will notify owners, and dealers will install a cable tie to provide proper clearance for the engine grid heater power feed cable, free of charge. The recall began on September 18, 2015. Owners may contact Forest River's customer service at 1-574-389-4600. Forest River's number for this recall is 5-08102015-0072.

Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.safercar.gov.

Is this car's recall fixed?

Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
