Recall 15V557000

Suspension — Fontaine · reported 3 Sep 2015 · 23 vehicles potentially affected

What's wrong

Fontaine Trailer Company (Fontaine) is recalling certain model year 2015 Traverse HT trailers manufactured March 4, 2015, to August 6, 2015. The affected trailers have a suspension member that may separate from the trailer as a result of cracks in the trailer.

The risk

If the suspension member separates from the trailer, there would be an increased risk of a crash.

The fix

Fontaine has notified owners and has installed additional reinforcing pieces, free of charge. The recall began September 2, 2015. Owners may contact Fontaine customer service at 1-205-485-1375.

Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.safercar.gov.

Vehicles covered by this recall

Whether a particular car is affected and still unrepaired depends on its VIN — a model year being listed does not mean every car of that year is included. Check any VIN free on CarLogs, or at nhtsa.gov/recalls.

Is this car's recall fixed?

Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
