Recall 15V717000 · manufacturer campaign AF06

Fuel System, Gasoline › Delivery › Hoses, Lines/piping, And Fittings — Porsche · reported 30 Oct 2015 · 21,835 vehicles potentially affected

What's wrong

Porsche Cars North America, Inc. (Porsche) is recalling certain model year 2015-2016 Macan S vehicles manufactured March 27, 2014, to October 27, 2015, and 2015-2016 Macan Turbo vehicles manufactured March 5, 2014, to October 27, 2015. The affected vehicles have a low pressure fuel line in the engine compartment that may leak.

The risk

A fuel leak in the presence of an ignition source increases the risk of a fire.

The fix

Porsche will notify owners, and dealers will install an improved low pressure fuel line, free of charge. Parts are not currently available. Porsche mailed an interim notification to owners on November 9, 2015 and will mail a second notice when parts are available. Owners may contact Porsche customer service at 1-800-767-7243. Porsche's number for this recall is AF06.

Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.safercar.gov.

Vehicles covered by this recall

Whether a particular car is affected and still unrepaired depends on its VIN — a model year being listed does not mean every car of that year is included. Check any VIN free on CarLogs, or at nhtsa.gov/recalls.

Is this car's recall fixed?

Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
