Recall 15V862000 · manufacturer campaign SB 430

Seats — Mci · reported 22 Dec 2015 · 9 vehicles potentially affected

What's wrong

Motor Coach Industries (MCI) is recalling certain model year 2016 MCI J4500 motor coaches manufactured August 26, 2015, to December 3, 2015, and equipped with Kiel passenger seats. During assembly, one of the seat mounting bolts was installed incorrectly.

The risk

In the event of a crash, the seat may detach from its floor mounting, increasing the risk of injury to the seat occupant.

The fix

MCI will notify owners, and dealers will correct the seat mounting, free of charge. The recall began on January 12, 2016. Owners may contact MCI at 1-800-241-2947. MCI's number for this recall is SB 430.

Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.safercar.gov.

Is this car's recall fixed?

Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
