Recall 16V159000

Equipment › Other › Labels — Winnebago · reported 17 Mar 2016 · 50 vehicles potentially affected

What's wrong

Winnebago Towable (Winnebago) is recalling certain 2016 Instinct trailers manufactured January 12, 2016, to February 29, 2016. The affected trailers may have an inadvertent "I" stamped as the fifth character in the VIN number.

The risk

No direct safety risk exists but an accurate VIN is required to verify trailer applicability for any future safety recalls.

The fix

Winnebago will notify owners, and dealers will install a new VIN plate over the incorrect VIN plate, free of charge. The recall began on April 19, 2016. Owners may contact Winnebago customer service at 1-574-825-5250.

Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.safercar.gov.

Vehicles covered by this recall

Whether a particular car is affected and still unrepaired depends on its VIN — a model year being listed does not mean every car of that year is included. Check any VIN free on CarLogs, or at nhtsa.gov/recalls.

Is this car's recall fixed?

Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
