Recall 16V182000 · manufacturer campaign 16S15
Parking Brake — Ford · reported 31 Mar 2016 · 4,654 vehicles potentially affected
What's wrong
Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain model year 2015-2016 F-650 and F-750 trucks manufactured January 28, 2015, to November 30, 2015. The clip that connects the hand operated parking brake actuator cable to the intermediate parking brake cable may fail.
The risk
If the parking brake cable connector clip fails, the vehicle may unexpectedly roll, increasing the risk of a crash.
The fix
Ford will notify owners, and dealers will replace the parking brake cable connector clip, free of charge. The recall began on May 19, 2016. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 16S15.
Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.safercar.gov.
Vehicles covered by this recall
Whether a particular car is affected and still unrepaired depends on its VIN — a model year being listed does not mean every car of that year is included. Check any VIN free on CarLogs, or at nhtsa.gov/recalls.
Is this car's recall fixed?
Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
