Electrical System › Wiring › Fuses And Circuit Breakers — Jayco Travel Trailer · reported 20 Apr 2016 · 322 vehicles potentially affected

What's wrong

Jayco, Inc. (Jayco) is recalling certain model year 2016 Octane Super Lite travel trailers manufactured November 2, 2015, to April 4, 2016. These trailers may have been built without a 30amp circuit breaker which, in the event of an electrical short, may result in a fire.

The risk

An electrical short on an unprotected circuit increases the risk of a fire.

The fix

Jayco will notify owners, and dealers will install a 30 amp circuit breaker, free of charge. The recall began on May 6, 2016. Owners may contact Jayco customer service at 1-800-283-8267. Jayco's number for this recall is 9901295.

Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.safercar.gov.

Vehicles covered by this recall

Whether a particular car is affected and still unrepaired depends on its VIN — a model year being listed does not mean every car of that year is included. Check any VIN free on CarLogs, or at nhtsa.gov/recalls.

Is this car's recall fixed?

Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
