Recall 16V404000
Wheels › Rim — Lakota · reported 6 Jun 2016 · 29 vehicles potentially affected
What's wrong
Lakota Corporation (Lakota) is recalling certain model year 2016 Lakota Bighorn, Charger, and Livestock Edition trailers manufactured October 8, 2015, through November 10, 2015, and equipped with 17.5 inch aluminum rims. In the affected trailers, the aluminum rims may have pin holes, resulting in a loss of tire pressure.
The risk
A loss of tire air pressure may result in tire failure, increasing the risk of a crash.
The fix
Lakota will notify the owners, and dealers will inspect and replace any defective wheels, free of charge. The recall began on August 24, 2016. Owners may contact Lakota customer service at 1-574-848-1636.
Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.safercar.gov.
Vehicles covered by this recall
Whether a particular car is affected and still unrepaired depends on its VIN — a model year being listed does not mean every car of that year is included. Check any VIN free on CarLogs, or at nhtsa.gov/recalls.
Is this car's recall fixed?
Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
