Recall 16V477000 · manufacturer campaign SN642

Equipment — Terex · reported 28 Jun 2016 · 400 vehicles potentially affected

What's wrong

Terex South Dakota (TSD) is recalling certain model year 2015-2016 HR, HRX, TC, and TCX Aerial devices manufactured May 4, 2015, to June 15, 2016. The platform leveling cylinder on the affected vehicles may have poor welds, and as a result, platform leveling cylinder may fail at the elbow, allowing the platform to tilt.

The risk

If the platform tilts, the platform occupant may fall, increasing their risk of injury.

The fix

TSD will notify owners, and dealers will replace the hydraulic cylinders, free of charge. The recall began on August 22, 2016. Owners may contact TSD Customer Service Department at 1-800-982-8975. TSD's number for this recall is SN642.

Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.safercar.gov.

Is this car's recall fixed?

Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
