Recall 16V554000
Suspension › Front — Mahindra · reported 26 Jul 2016 · 283 vehicles potentially affected
What's wrong
Mahindra Tractor Assembly Inc. (Mahindra) is recalling certain model year 2015-2016 GenZe 2.0 and Enterprise 1 scooters manufactured October 2, 2015, to July 11, 2016. The front forks of the affected scooters may not be properly tightened within the steering mounts and, as a result, the fork tubes may move affecting low speed maneuverability.
The risk
If the fork tubes move and affect the maneuverability or the turning radius of the scooter, it can increase the risk of a crash.
The fix
Mahindra will notify owners and new bolts and washers to ensure proper clamp force will be installed, free of charge. The recall began September 14, 2016. Owners may contact Mahindra customer service at 1-888-808-9526.
Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.safercar.gov.
Vehicles covered by this recall
Whether a particular car is affected and still unrepaired depends on its VIN — a model year being listed does not mean every car of that year is included. Check any VIN free on CarLogs, or at nhtsa.gov/recalls.
Is this car's recall fixed?
Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
