Recall 16V578000

Electrical System — E-one · reported 3 Aug 2016 · 1 vehicles potentially affected

What's wrong

E-One Incorporated (E-One) is recalling one model year 2015 Typhoon emergency vehicle manufactured March 16, 2015, to October 30, 2015, equipped with a Class 1 Ultraview Touchscreen manufactured by Hale Products. The touchscreen may experience false switch activations that can happen without the operator's knowledge causing accessories to turn on or off.

The risk

Uintended turning on or off of any or multiple accessories such as emergency beacons or automatic snow chains can increase the risk of a crash.

The fix

E-One has notified the owner and updated touchscreen software has been installed, free of charge. The recall began on August 4, 2016. Owners may contact E-One customer service at 1-904-237-1122.

Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.safercar.gov.

Whether a particular car is affected and still unrepaired depends on its VIN — a model year being listed does not mean every car of that year is included. Check any VIN free on CarLogs, or at nhtsa.gov/recalls.

Is this car's recall fixed?

Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
