Recall 16V592000 · manufacturer campaign 21602480
Service Brakes, Air — Tadano · reported 10 Aug 2016 · 58 vehicles potentially affected
What's wrong
Tadano America Corporation (Tadano) is recalling certain model year 2013-2015 ATF70G-4, ATF100G-4, ATF130G-5, ATF180G-5, ATF220G-5, and ATF400G-6 all-terrain crane trucks manufactured April 1, 2014, to October 9, 2015. The affected vehicles may have an improperly assembled air line connection which may result in a sudden loss of mobility or reduced braking.
The risk
A loss of air supply resulting in a loss of mobility and reduced braking power can increase the risk of a crash.
The fix
Tadano has notified owners, and dealers will test all of the air connections, repairing the connections as necessary, free of charge. The recall began on August 30, 2016. Owners may contact Tadano customer service at 1-281-869-0030. Tadano's number for this recall is 21602480.
Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.safercar.gov.
Vehicles covered by this recall
Whether a particular car is affected and still unrepaired depends on its VIN — a model year being listed does not mean every car of that year is included. Check any VIN free on CarLogs, or at nhtsa.gov/recalls.
Is this car's recall fixed?
Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
