Recall 16V611000

Exterior Lighting — Morbark · reported 23 Aug 2016 · 2,741 vehicles potentially affected

What's wrong

Morbark, Inc. (Morbark) is recalling certain model year 2009-2016 Beever wood chipper trailers manufactured January 5, 2009, to August 3, 2016. The affected trailers are missing reflex reflectors. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment."

The risk

Without reflectors, the wood chipper trailer may be less visible to other traffic, increasing the risk of a crash.

The fix

Morbark will notify owners and provide them with reflectors to install, free of charge. The recall on November 4, 2016. Owners may contact Morbark customer service at 1-517-866-2381.

Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.safercar.gov.

Is this car's recall fixed?

Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
