Equipment › Other › Labels — Peterbilt · reported 31 Aug 2016 · 15 vehicles potentially affected

What's wrong

PACCAR Incorporated (PACCAR) is recalling certain model year 2013 Peterbilt 367 trucks, manufactured April 18, 2012, to June 29, 2012. The affected vehicles may be equipped with a certification label that has incorrect gross axle weight rating (GAWR) and gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) information. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of 49 CFR Part 567, "Certification."

The risk

Incorrect GAWR and GVWR information can result in the vehicle being overloaded, increasing the risk of a crash.

The fix

Peterbilt will notify owners, and dealers will replace the certification labels, free of charge. The recall began on September 21, 2016. Owners may contact Peterbilt customer service at 1-940-591-4000. PACCAR's number for this recall is 816-D.

Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.safercar.gov.

Is this car's recall fixed?

Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
