Recall 16V783000

Suspension › Rear › Axle › Non-powered Axle Assembly — Con-tech · reported 27 Oct 2016 · 573 vehicles potentially affected

What's wrong

Con-Tech Manufacturing (Con-Tech) is recalling certain model year 2015-2017 BridgeKing concrete mixer trucks manufactured September 13, 2015, to April 8, 2016. On the affected vehicles, the fender mounts on the bridge axles may crack and the fenders may separate from the vehicle.

The risk

A fender that detaches from the bridge axle can become a road hazard and increase the risk of a crash.

The fix

Con-Tech will notify owners, and dealers will install a service kit that includes fender mount support gussets, free of charge. The recall began on November 2, 2016. Owners may contact Con-Tech customer service at 1-507-374-2239.

Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.safercar.gov.

Whether a particular car is affected and still unrepaired depends on its VIN — a model year being listed does not mean every car of that year is included. Check any VIN free on CarLogs, or at nhtsa.gov/recalls.

Is this car's recall fixed?

Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
