Recall 16V816000 · manufacturer campaign RE16/32

Seats — Bentley · reported 10 Nov 2016 · 378 vehicles potentially affected

What's wrong

Bentley Motors, Inc. (Bentley) is recalling certain model year 2017 Bentayga vehicles manufactured March 1, 2016, to September 30, 2016. During the assembly process, the affected vehicles may not have had the seat mechanism and instrument panel joints properly tightened.

The risk

If the seat mechanism and instrument panel joints were not tightened, they can loosen, increasing the risk of injury in the event of a crash.

The fix

Bentley will notify owners, and dealers will inspect and tighten the seat mechanism and instrument panel joints, as necessary, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin in January 2017. Owners may contact Bentley customer service at 1-800-777-6923. Bentley's number for this recall is RE16/32.

Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.safercar.gov.

Vehicles covered by this recall

Whether a particular car is affected and still unrepaired depends on its VIN — a model year being listed does not mean every car of that year is included. Check any VIN free on CarLogs, or at nhtsa.gov/recalls.

Is this car's recall fixed?

Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
