Recall 16V834000 · manufacturer campaign RC000123

Electrical System — Thor Motor Coach · reported 17 Nov 2016 · 528 vehicles potentially affected

What's wrong

Thor Motor Coach (TMC) is recalling certain model year 2014-2016 Tuscany motorhomes, models 40DX, 40KQ, 40RX, 42GX, 42WX, 44MT, 45AT and 45LT, manufactured April 11, 2013, to October 12, 2015. In the affected vehicles, water may leak into the keyless entry module and cause an electrical short.

The risk

An electrical short can increase the risk of a fire.

The fix

TMC will notify owners, and dealers will seal the area around the keyless entry module, free of charge. The recall began on January 10, 2017. Owners may contact TMC customer service at 1-877-500-1020. TMC's number for this recall is RC000123.

Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.safercar.gov.

Whether a particular car is affected and still unrepaired depends on its VIN — a model year being listed does not mean every car of that year is included. Check any VIN free on CarLogs, or at nhtsa.gov/recalls.

Is this car's recall fixed?

Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
