Recall 16V869000 · manufacturer campaign RC000124

Exterior Lighting — Thor Motor Coach · reported 2 Dec 2016 · 32 vehicles potentially affected

What's wrong

Thor Motor Coach (TMC) is recalling certain model year 2017 Quantum RQ29 motorhomes manufactured June 27, 2016, to September 29, 2016. The affected vehicles may be missing a mid-ship marker light. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Systems (FMVSS) number 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment."

The risk

If the mid-ship marker light is missing, other drivers can mistake the length of the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.

The fix

TMC will notify owners, and dealers will install a mid-ship marker light if it is missing, free of charge. The recall began on January 25, 2017. Owners may contact TMC customer service at 1-877-500-1020. TMC's number for this recall is RC000124.

Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.safercar.gov.

Vehicles covered by this recall

Whether a particular car is affected and still unrepaired depends on its VIN — a model year being listed does not mean every car of that year is included. Check any VIN free on CarLogs, or at nhtsa.gov/recalls.

Is this car's recall fixed?

Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
