Recall 17V183000
Equipment › Other › Labels — Vanleigh · reported 15 Mar 2017 · 270 vehicles potentially affected
What's wrong
VanLeigh RV (VanLeigh) is recalling certain 2016-2017 Vilano fifth-wheel recreational trailers, models 325RL and 365RL. These vehicles have a Federal Placard that indicates incorrect tire and load range information, possibly resulting in the vehicle being overloaded. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of 49 CFR Part 567, "Certification."
The risk
If the vehicle is overloaded it can increase the risk of a crash.
The fix
VanLeigh will notify owners and will send them a corrected Federal Placard label, free of charge. The recall began on April 20, 2017. Owners may contact VanLeigh customer service at 1-662-612-4040.
Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.safercar.gov.
Vehicles covered by this recall
Whether a particular car is affected and still unrepaired depends on its VIN — a model year being listed does not mean every car of that year is included. Check any VIN free on CarLogs, or at nhtsa.gov/recalls.
Is this car's recall fixed?
Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
