Fuel System, Other › Delivery › Hoses, Lines/piping, And Fittings — Mcneilus · reported 23 Mar 2017 · 130 vehicles potentially affected

What's wrong

McNeilus Truck & Manufacturing, Inc. (McNeilus) is recalling certain 2013-2015 HD REL-11, REL TG TAG-12, MA-42, M-44, ZR-48, AR-49, and Pacific LoPro FEL-88 Refuse Trucks, equipped with compressed natural gas (CNG) fuel systems by Agility Fuel Systems. The affected CNG systems have flexible stainless steel, sleeved, high pressure hoses that may corrode from exposure to environmental conditions such as water mixed with road salt.

The risk

Corrosion of the fuel hose may result in a CNG leak, which in the presence of an ignition source, may increase the risk of a fire.

The fix

McNeilus will notify owners instructing them to contact Agility to have the defective hose assemblies replaced free of charge. The recall began on April 28, 2017. Owners may contact Agility customer service at 1-949-267-7745 or contact McNeilus customer service at 1-888-686-7278. McNeilus' number for this recall is Agility 16E-092.

Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.safercar.gov.

Is this car's recall fixed?

Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
