What's wrong

Grand Design RV, LLC (Grand Design) is recalling certain 2017-2018 Imagine travel trailers. The screws that secure the slide room mechanism columns may shear, allowing the slide room to extend while the trailer is being towed.

The risk

If the slide room opens during transit there would be an increased risk of a crash.

The fix

Grand Design will notify owners, and dealers will replace the slide mechanism column securing screws, free of charge. The recall began on May 15, 2017. Owners may contact Grand Design customer service at 1-574-825-9679. Grand Design's number for this recall is 910009.

Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.safercar.gov.

Whether a particular car is affected and still unrepaired depends on its VIN — a model year being listed does not mean every car of that year is included. Check any VIN free on CarLogs, or at nhtsa.gov/recalls.

Is this car's recall fixed?

Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
