Trailer Hitches — Prevost · reported 2 May 2017 · 407 vehicles potentially affected

What's wrong

Prevost Cars, Inc. (Prevost) is recalling certain 2014-2017 H3-45, H3-45 VIP, X3-45, X3-45 VIP, and X3-45 VIP Entertainer motor coaches equipped with 10,000lb-capacity trailer hitch receivers. The trailer hitch mounting fasteners may loosen.

The risk

If the fasteners loosen, the trailer hitch may deform or detach from the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.

The fix

Prevost will notify owners, and dealers will replace the trailer hitch mounting hardware, free of charge. The recall began on June 30, 2017. Owners may contact Prevost customer service at 1-866-870-2046. Prevost's number for this recall is SR17-11.

Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.safercar.gov.

Is this car's recall fixed?

Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
