Recall 17V323000 · manufacturer campaign CR4041

Vehicle Speed Control › Accelerator Pedal — Nova Bus · reported 16 May 2017 · 24 vehicles potentially affected

What's wrong

Nova Bus (Nova) is recalling certain 2016 Nova LFS Artic transit buses. In the event of a loss of communication within the bus' multiplex network, the computer may command full throttle application, without input from the driver.

The risk

Unintentional, full throttle application may increase the risk of a crash.

The fix

Nova has notified owners, and dealers have reprogrammed the buses, free of charge. The recall began on April 28, 2017. Owners may contact Nova customer service at 1-450-472-6410. Nova's recall number for this campaign is CR4041.

Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.safercar.gov.

Whether a particular car is affected and still unrepaired depends on its VIN — a model year being listed does not mean every car of that year is included. Check any VIN free on CarLogs, or at nhtsa.gov/recalls.

Is this car's recall fixed?

Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
